A Diary: Global Imaginaries of Confinement
What happens when imaginaries of confinement intermingle across time and space? When experiences of confinement differ markedly in their intensity and circumstances, how and when do they overlap through the subjective imaginary? And how do reminiscences of war continue to percolate and reproduce themselves in one’s present? This vignette traces the perceived overlap between the experience of confinement during a snowstorm in Massachusetts and the shelter years in Lebanon during the civil war.
